Cognitive skills intergrate remembereing, problem solving and learning
Assess her cognitive skill by looking at:
• Pretend play
o Involve her in some pretend/imaginative play
ï?§ Is she able to play her role?
ï?§ can she follow the rules when playing
ï?§ dose she understand taking turns
• Block building/drawing
o offer her bricks and test her ability to build a tower, a bridge and stairs
o test the child’s ability to draw a man
• Colour matching
o can she match any colours(about 3y)
• Solving complex puzzles
o Is she able to do puzzles of increasing complexity?
The following are expected for the preschool child
Can match 3-10 colours
Can draw a man with increasing detail
Is able to complete puzzles of increasing complexity
Build a tower of brick, bridge and stairs
Understands imaginative play
Obey the rules in imaginative play- (4-5years)
