Warning signs of speech and language delay
• Failure to respond to sound
• No babbling by 12 months
• No spontaneous vocalisation by 15-18months
• Not comprehending simple commands by the age of 18 months,
• Absence of recognisable words by 2years
• No sentences by 21/2-3 years 
• Unintelligible speech by 4 years
• child is having difficulty telling a simple story by four to five years of age
• Speech delay of more a year
• Associated delay of other milestones
• Any child who is regressing of language skills
