Sir,
in module 7, it has been mentioned that beta agonist act byreducing intracellular calicium and reducing sensitivity to it, but dosen\'t they act by stimulating beta receptors which cause muscle fiber relaxation in uterus, bronchus, etc, so it is the same mechanism?!

Also is it true that they cause hyperglycaemia only in diabetic patient only?!

Dear Sir,
I found the following information in (Clinical Pharmacology) for Lurance1992:P/394-350
Sympathomemetic Drugs that act on beta adrenoceptors on the external wall of cell membrane cause activation of the enzyme adynyle cyclase on the inside of the cell membrane leading to increase cyclic AMP intracellularly and this open calcium ions channels which initiate specific action of the receptor(tachycardia, arteriolar dilation,broncodilation,sk.m.=tremer,uterine relaxation, hypokaleamia, hyperglyceamia and lipolysis).
Regarding the second Qs, I found it in the Answers Booklet of StratOG/Preterm labour, in the True and false section, they say that Betamemetic drugs cause hyperglyceamia in diabetic patients only/True........??!!so what is the Truly true?
Regards.
