1mg vitamin K given im at birth sufficient to prevent HDN - concerns about pain of injection. No further supplementation required even if breastfed.
Cf:
Breast-fed babies require further oral supplementation - 2mg at 1 week and 1 month of age and repeated monthly until weaned.
Both these statements are in the NOTES.
My doubts are:
Should all breast fed babies be supplemented with oral vit k ?
or only babies at risk of HDN are given oral + inj.vit K?
