Question 6

A 23 year old woman is using the progestogen-only implant for contraception. Additional contraceptive measures should be taken if she is taking the following drug(s).

Why is the N answer correct?

The FSRH guideline on interactions suggests that POP and Implants effectiveness is affected by Lamotrigine.

N is the correct answer - sodium valproate is not an enzyme inducer and there is no option with lamotrigine on its own.
