A healthy 58 year old woman has been referred to the gynaecology clinic because of a 1 year history of urinary frequency, urgency and lower abdominal pain. Her LMP was 7 years ago and she has no menopausal symptoms. There is no urinary incontinence but she has to pass urine 20-25 times per day. She passes 43 – 87 ml per void and drinks 1-2 litres of fluid per day including 2 – 5 cups of caffeinated drinks. Genital examination, pelvic ultrasound scan and urine dipstix are normal.

A) Urodynamic studies
