A 34 year old woman and her 40 year old partner have been referred to the fertility clinic because of the 3 year history of primary infertility. The man is found to have azoospermia on semen analysis with a normal semen volume. The vas deferens is palpable on clinical examination with normal size testicles. Serum FSH level is raised.

Why primary testicular failure is worng despite it is associated with azoospermia  & elevated FSH??
