molar pregnancy and use of COCP

molar pregnancy and use of COCP Posted by SHABANA  A.

Dear Paul,

please help me clear a doubt regarding use of COCP in molar pregnancy.

Greentop guideline states that COCP may be used once hcg level has normalised.

Your notes say that COCP can be used even if hcg levels are rising.

According to UKMEC criteria COCP use is ukmec-1 ( can be used even in persistently elevated b-hcg.)

please clarify and help me clear the doubt .can COCP be used even if hcg levels have not normalised or shhould it be given once hcg level ha normalised.

thanks n regards

SA.

UKMEC provide the current standard and COCP are UKMEC 1 regardless of HCG levels
