A 23 year old primigravida is admitted for induction of labour at 39 weeks gestation because of symphysis pubis diastasis. Three hours after vaginal prostaglandin administration, she complains of painful contractions every minute. CTG shows contractions 8:10 lasting ~30s. The fetal heart rate is 140bpm with good variability and accelerations.

 

     Intra-muscular analgesia

 

The query is why not to give subcutaneous terbutalin to this patient if she is contracting 8 in 10 min
