Fetal Anomaly

Fetal Anomaly Posted by Bee N.
Dear Paul,
1) What is the relevance of doing amniocentesis in someone with spina bifida when this is a structural anomaly not associated with a chromosomal defect. Is it for acetylcholinesterase/AFP or karyotyping or both.
2) Can you kindly post the ideal answers to previously marked essays. I know we can gather info from those marked but sometimes its difficult as most people dont seem to nail the questions.

the PM from which we use in our hospital has an inbuilt tick box section about tissues being used for research or teaching purposes......the patient can choose.most of the patients i have come across are very glad to give consent for these purposes and it makes there bereavement process easier thinking that there loss can be used for other people\'s benefit in the future
